Making The First Ident

After researching Ident’s and Logos in well known films, to get a good idea of how our Ident should look, we started creating our own using the programmes of  Pixelmator and Motion.

The first step was drawing the Tree using the programme Pixelmator. Using a graphic tablet I was able to hand draw the tree with the paint brush tool which helped to get smooth lines and edges and erased the errors that occur when drawing using a mouse. I found this process relatively easy and the programme was pretty simple to navigate. However to get the correct tree shape that I was happy with was rather time consuming. After I was happy at how the tree looked, I then Exported it to Motion to add an animation to it.

Here is the programme Pixelmator and the finished hand drawing of the tree.

The next task was to add an animation and title to go with it. This also proved easier than expected as it was quite similar to Final Cut Pro, which I have experience in using. After dragging the drawing from Pixelmator I then added the glow effect to the picture and made it so it glow up and then down.
