In todays lesson we looked at different colour palette’s used in films and found one that we really liked and that would help establish the murder mystery genre we have placed our film idea under.

Upon re-watching the film ‘Gone Girl’ we both decided that we really liked the look of the colour palette used in terms of the dark and cold colours. We both felt that it suits the genre very well and helps set the mood of the characters in our film and acts as a extended metaphor. The sombre colour palette used in Gone girl, mixed with the often very dark lighting gives it a realistic and grounded theme to the film as often fantasies have bright and cheerful colours  which is very clearly absent in the film.
